My Journey in New Media Journalism...

About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog!

First off, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Katherine Droguett and I come from a narrow country located between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific OceanThis is the country where all those 34 miners were trapped underground for more than 90 daysI'm pretty sure you know exactly what country that is!

When I arrived, I did not know the English language, but was driven with desire to succeed at everything I attempted in life, and therefore, learned the language. I worked hard and at the age of 21 got married and then decided to attend college. At this time, we started a family and going to school was a challenge all its own. I did, however, continue to go to school and achieved a degree in Computer Science in 2004. I worked as a Computer Specialist for almost five years, and it was extremely hard to keep up with all my responsibilities.

Therefore, my husband and I sat one day and decided that I would stay home for the kids. However, it was one of the best decisions ever made. Furthermore, I was constantly looking for ways to create some extra income working from home.  I became more involved with Social Networking and how to use it to my advantage to grow my own Web Business and a presence online to help local businesses owners and other entrepreneurs to build their online presence using Web 2.0 tools to grow their enterprises.

Now, that things got a little easier with my girls, and that I have made up my mind to continue my education.  I have found that Full Sail University fits perfectly fine with my busy schedule, and the program they offer for New Media Journalism is exactly what I was looking for to improve my overall skillsTherefore, I can become more marketable in today's job market.

As a new student in New Media Journalism my aim is to be able to contribute to the community by sharing my thoughts and learning.  I know I have a long way to go and everything comes with practice, so forgive me if my writing skills aren't quite there yet. The most important thing for me is to be authentic  and original.

Please stop by my blog anytime and don't forget to leave your comments and suggestions for me :)
